OPEN POSITION: Project Finance & Procurement Specialist
Job Description:
The Project Finance and Procurement Specialist will be responsible for information entry, management and output with our primary accounting systems, including MS Project Server. This position is responsible for project set up for labor and expenses, material orders, subcontracts, project updates, invoices and reports related to project status, material order status, subcontract status and individual’s time entry. Other duties will include project administration of files, receiving and controlling material inventory until materials are consumed by the project, and process improvement projects as assigned.
The position requires working closely with assigned other Project Specialists, Project Financial Leads, Project Managers, and the Director of Systems Operations in a small group setting (5-7 people).
Principal Duties:
- Master accounting systems skills/knowledge/expertise to perform primary duties.
- Master all related business process requirements to perform primary duties.
- Draft, finalize, send and maintain PO Acknowledgements.
- Enter/set up and maintain all required information on all assigned projects.
- Meet all project invoicing and payment tracking requirements.
- Conduct all material ordering, tracking, controlling and documenting for all assigned projects.
- Produce required reports on all assigned projects.
- Conduct all required invoicing functions.
- Set up files for and administer project documentation on the LAN, in hard copy, in the project book, including transmittal and change logs.
- Communicate with NEC and customer staff as necessary.
- Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility. Has the authority to stop those work processes at any time it is believed that quality is being compromised.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum Associates Degree in either Construction Management or Accounting
- Minimum 3-5 years immediate direct accounting or project controls experience
- Strong accounting knowledge, revenue, cost, invoicing, payment, cash
