DeltaV system provides native support for a wide range of busses without the need for 3rd party software tools or hardware. The DeltaV system was built from the ground up to support FOUNDATION fieldbus, Profibus DP, DeviceNet and AS-i busses.

FOUNDATION Fieldbus

The DeltaV system supports plug-and-play capabilities for FOUNDATION fieldbus devices. With the latest DeltaV release and the latest FOUNDATION fieldbus devices, replacing and commissioning a FOUNDATION fieldbus device requires only an instrument technician and a wrench – no computer screen interaction required. FOUNDATION fieldbus devices are auto-sensed when connected to the control network and automatically added to your configuration. As a result, your engineering and commissioning efforts are dramatically reduced.

DeviceNet & Profibus DP

TheDeltaV DeviceNet and Profibus DP interface cards connect directly to motor starters, variable speed drives, and other discrete devices through DeviceNet and Profibus DP without the need for mapping. All of the parameters available in these discrete devices are easily incorporated into your alarm and control strategies for improved operational efficiency.

AS-i Bus

The AS-i bus interface within DeltaV supports native connectivity to simple discrete devices such as switches, sensors, and actuators. The DeltaV system is tightly integrated with AMS Device Manager to streamline project engineering and implementation of FOUNDATION fieldbus and HART smart devices, ultimately delivering improved plant operation and maintenance.
